One sunny afternoon, a crow was sitting on a tree with a piece of cheese in its beak.
Pada suatu petang yang cerah, seekor gagak duduk di atas pokok dengan seketul keju di paruhnya.

A hungry fox walked by and saw the crow with the cheese. The fox thought to himself, "I want that cheese!"
Seekor rubah yang lapar berjalan lalu dan melihat gagak dengan keju itu. Rubah itu berfikir, "Saya mahu keju itu!"

The fox came closer to the tree and said, "Oh, beautiful crow! You have such a lovely voice. I bet you can sing better than any bird in the forest."
Rubah itu mendekati pokok dan berkata, "Oh, gagak yang cantik! Kamu mempunyai suara yang sangat merdu. Saya pasti kamu boleh menyanyi lebih baik daripada burung lain di dalam hutan."

The crow was flattered and wanted to show off. So, it began to sing loudly, forgetting about the cheese in its beak.
Gagak itu terasa dihargai dan ingin menunjukkan kebolehannya. Jadi, ia mula menyanyi dengan kuat, melupakan keju di paruhnya.

As the crow sang, the piece of cheese fell to the ground. The fox quickly grabbed it and ran away.
Semasa gagak itu menyanyi, seketul keju jatuh ke tanah. Rubah itu segera mengambilnya dan berlari pergi.

The crow realized that it had been tricked. "Next time, I will be more careful," the crow thought.
Gagak itu menyedari bahawa ia telah diperdayakan. "Lain kali, saya akan lebih berhati-hati," fikir gagak itu.

Cerita ini mengajarkan tentang pentingnya berhati-hati dan tidak terpedaya dengan pujian kosong.
